Buy.Com Founder Asks 9th Circ. To Bury Deposition Copy

Law360, Los Angeles (January 9, 2013, 7:43 PM EST) -- Buy.com founder Scott Blum urged the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday to order the destruction of his deposition transcript from an IPO-related lawsuit nine years ago, saying counsel representing accounting firm KPMG LLP in separate litigation violated a court order by obtaining a copy from a court reporter.

Blum's attorney Michael Avenatti said a federal trial judge erred by not enforcing the terms of a protective order that required the destruction of all confidential materials after his suit against Merrill Lynch & Co. was settled in 2005....
