Burger King Franchisee Pays $2.5M To End Harassment Suit

Law360, New York (January 10, 2013, 1:34 PM EST) -- Burger King Corp.'s largest franchisee, Carrols Restaurant Group Inc., has reached a $2.5 million settlement with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to resolve a long-running sexual harassment suit, according to a New York federal court filing Wednesday.

Under the deal, which would settle the remainder of the EEOC's more than 14-year-old case against Carrols Restaurant Group subsidiary Carrols Corp., the franchisee would provide cash payouts to 89 current and former female workers who were allegedly sexually harassed in violation of Title VII of the Civil...
