Calif. Auditors Win Class Cert. In PwC OT Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (January 10, 2013, 9:09 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Thursday certified a class of more than 300 PriceWaterhouse Coopers LLP senior audit associates who say the public accounting firm failed to pay overtime to auditors who weren’t certified public accountants.

Thursday’s grant of certification is the latest development in a Fair Labor Standards Act suit launched in 2008 alleging PriceWaterhouse uniformly misclassified senior audit associates as administrative or professional employees and, as a result, failed to provide overtime payments, meal periods and rest breaks.
