'Spider-Man' Copyright Suit Revived After Deal Talks Stall

Law360, New York (January 11, 2013, 4:22 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday reopened a copyright infringement and breach of contract case brought against the producers of “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” by the musical's former director, after the two sides struggled to hash out a finalized settlement.

U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest restored the suit brought by Julie Taymor, who alleged that 8 Legged Productions LLC and others involved with the "Spider-Man" musical's production continued to use her copyrighted ideas, but did not pay her royalties, after she was removed...
