House GOP Proposals Seek To Cut $300M From Sandy Aid

Law360, New York (January 11, 2013, 2:55 PM EST) -- As the U.S. House of Representatives prepares to take up a $50.7 billion Sandy relief package, House Republicans are seeking to slash the package by over $300 million, according to amendments filed as of early Friday afternoon.

The House Rules Committee will meet Monday to determine which amendments will stick as lawmakers are scheduled to consider the package's main bill H.R. 152, and a $33.7 billion amendment from Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, R-N.J., the week of Jan. 14, according to the House website.
