Ex-Citibank Employee Convicted In $1.3M Theft From Partner

Law360, New York (January 14, 2013, 10:29 PM EST) -- A New Jersey jury on Monday convicted a former Citibank employee of stealing some $1.3 million from the former managing partner of Salomon Brothers, federal prosecutors in the state said Monday. 

After a weeklong trial, 48-year-old Karen Febles, a former executive assistant for Citibank, which had acquired Salomon Brothers in 1998, was convicted of fraud, four counts of wire fraud and three counts of money laundering, among other charges, in the theft from 98-year-old former partner William Salomon.
