1st Leg Of Google-Backed Wind Transmission Line Goes To NJ

Law360, New York (January 15, 2013, 1:36 PM EST) -- Atlantic Wind Connection, a venture led by electric transmission company Trans-Elect Development Co. LLC and sponsored by Google Inc., has picked New Jersey for the first phase of its massive offshore wind power line, the company announced Tuesday.

As the first leg of the planned 790-mile underwater electrical transmission line, which will eventually run from Virginia to New York connecting off-shore wind farms, the New Jersey Energy Link will span the length of the state and carry about 3,000 megawatts of wind turbine-produced electricity, according to...
