Faulty Grenade FCA Suit Booted Over Relator Obstruction

Law360, New York (January 18, 2013, 1:24 PM EST) -- A Florida federal judge on Thursday granted defense contractor DSE Inc.’s bid to toss a former employee's False Claims Act suit alleging the company provided defective grenades to the U.S. military, citing his numerous obstructions and misrepresentations.

U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Jenkins granted terminating sanctions dismissing all claims brought by relator John D. King, whose case was plagued by multiple changes in counsel and repeated failures to produce court-ordered documents that have resulted in three prior awards of monetary sanctions.
