Alzheimer's Drug Claims Already Failed Once, Pfizer Says

Law360, Los Angeles (January 18, 2013, 7:12 PM EST) -- Pfizer Inc. urged a New Jersey federal judge Thursday to toss new claims in a shareholder class action contending the pharmaceutical company deceived investors about the efficacy of Wyeth Inc.’s highly publicized Alzheimer’s drug, saying the allegations already failed to pass muster in court.

In pushing for dismissal of the suit, which filed by the Security Police and Fire Professionals of America Retirement Fund, Pfizer argued the court’s consideration of the new claims — accusing five Pfizer executives of making misleading statements about clinical trial results...
