Ex-New Orleans Mayor Nagin Indicted In Corruption Case

Law360, New York (January 18, 2013, 6:15 PM EST) -- A Louisiana grand jury on Friday unleashed a 21-count corruption indictment against former New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin, alleging he awarded a host of city contracts to favored business partners in return for kickbacks.

Prosecutors allege that, between December 2004 and 2012, Nagin, 56,  participated in an honest services fraud by using his public office and official capacity to receive more than $200,000 in bribes and kickbacks, including loads of granite for his family business.
