Blackstone, Warburg Want Out Of Kosmos IPO Suit

Law360, New York (January 22, 2013, 7:12 PM EST) -- The Blackstone Group LP and Warburg Pincus LLC both asked a Texas federal judge Tuesday to throw out claims lodged at them in a proposed class action over allegedly misleading investors before Kosmos Energy Ltd.'s initial public offering.

Filing separate, but similar motions to dismiss, the private equity firms contend the claims of Securities Act violations lobbed at them fail because they neither sold the IPO stock nor solicited the investors' purchase of stock in the oil and gas company, according to the motions.
