Disney Bracelets May Threaten Kids' Privacy, Lawmaker Says

Law360, Chicago (January 24, 2013, 5:33 PM EST) -- Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., sent a letter to The Walt Disney Co.'s chairman and CEO Thursday seeking more information about the company's planned use of so-called MagicBands that could collect information about theme park guests, saying the wristband raises concerns about children's privacy.

Markey, a co-chairman of the congressional bipartisan privacy caucus, asked Disney chief Robert Iger a slew of questions about the vacation management system MyMagic+, which the company plans to to introduce at Walt Disney World in Florida later this year.
