High Court Asked To Weigh Copyright Board Structure Reform

Law360, New York (February 4, 2013, 2:29 PM EST) -- Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Inc. recently told the U.S. Supreme Court that Congress, and not an appeals court, should have revised the structure of the Copyright Royalty Board after it was found to be unconstitutional.

In a Jan. 25 petition for writ of certiorari, IBS said the D.C. Circuit overstepped its authority when it rewrote a statute to address constitutional issues the appeals court had identified with the CRB's structure.
