Galleon’s Far Deserves Lean Sentence For Aiding FBI, US Says

Law360, Los Angeles (February 4, 2013, 10:55 PM EST) -- Former hedge fund manager Ali Far’s assistance in an FBI insider trading investigation that resulted in the arrests of Galleon Group LLC and Atheros Communications Inc. executives should warrant a light sentence, prosecutors told a New York federal court Monday.

Far, who pled guilty in 2009 to conspiring to commit securities fraud and wire fraud in connection with insider trading schemes, agreed in 2009 to cooperate with the investigation into insider trading at Galleon at the request of FBI agents, according to a sentencing memo filed...
