NY AG Appeals Toss Of Objection To $115M AIG Fraud Deal

Law360, New York (February 7, 2013, 3:24 PM EST) -- New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Wednesday he would appeal a federal court decision that barred the state from challenging a $115 million settlement by American International Group Inc. over securities fraud class action claims, one month after the judge said the state lacked standing.

Schneiderman told U.S. District Judge Deborah A. Batts that the state planned to appeal her order to the Second Circuit, according to court documents. Schneiderman had argued that the settlement would preclude his office from pursuing New York's civil fraud...
