Don't Let KBR Skate On Army Food Kickbacks, Fed. Circ. Told

Law360, New York (February 7, 2013, 5:42 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday blasted KBR Inc.’s Federal Circuit appeal of a ruling decreasing reimbursement on a military food contract by almost $30 million, saying KBR was trying to get off easy for its role in an alleged kickbacks scheme tied to the work.

The U.S. told the Federal Circuit in a brief that it was within its rights to withhold funds and impose penalties on KBR, which allegedly received kickbacks from Saudi Arabia-based Tamimi Global Co. Ltd., in return for assistance supplying...
