Christie Vetoes Web Gaming Bill, But Offers Path To Approval

Law360, New York (February 7, 2013, 7:24 PM EST) -- While he conditionally vetoed legislation allowing people across New Jersey to place online bets on Atlantic City casino games, Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday backed Internet gaming in the state and offered what one of the bill's sponsors described as “simple changes” to tighten up the proposal.

In his veto message, Christie proposed changes that would boost funding to treat compulsive gambling and take existing restrictions on casino-related employment and representation for state employees and lawmakers and extend them to Internet gaming licensees and their affiliates....
