T-Mobile Owes $7M For Racing Car Sponsorship Row

Law360, Wilmington (February 11, 2013, 11:12 PM EST) -- A Delaware federal judge on Friday ruled T-Mobile USA Inc. owed $7 million for breaching a sponsorship deal with an automotive racing team, finding the telecom giant had no justifiable reason to pull out of the contract after less than a year.

VICI Racing LLC launched the suit after it didn't receive the second payment from its backloaded three-year $15 million sponsorship, an agreement the telecom claimed was void on account of the race team's nonperformance on and off the track.
