Sierra Club Sues To Block Future Tahoe Resort Development

Law360, New York (February 12, 2013, 6:11 PM EST) -- The Sierra Club and a local environmental group filed suit in California federal court Monday against the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency seeking to block an update to the town's regional planning compact that would open more than 300 acres of undeveloped land in Lake Tahoe to resort development.

The suit claims that the TRPA's December update to a 1968 compact between California and Nevada violates the terms of the agreement, which was designed to protect natural resources and control development in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The...
