Insurer Can't Fend Off Class Cert. In Spam-Texting Suit

Law360, New York (February 12, 2013, 6:29 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday certified a class of nearly 60,000 individuals who allegedly received an unsolicited text message falsely promising a free Wal-Mart gift card from a marketing group hired by Stonebridge Life Insurance Co.
