DePuy Exec Says He Knew Of Safety Concerns For Hip Implant

Law360, Los Angeles (February 13, 2013, 9:42 PM EST) -- A top marketing executive at DePuy Inc. knew of “red flags” suggesting safety problems with its ASR XL metal-on-metal hip implant several years before the product was recalled, the executive told a California jury Wednesday in the first implant case against the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary to go to trial.

Under intense questioning by an attorney for a retired prison guard suing DePuy, Randy Kilburn initially said he couldn't remember whether anyone had told him before the August 2010 recall that the implant had design faults....
