Google Fights Back Against BT In Web Patent Battle

Law360, Los Angeles (February 13, 2013, 11:11 PM EST) -- Google Inc. countersued BT Americas Inc. in California federal court Wednesday, accusing the telecommunications company of infringing four patents after BT accused Google of violating six of its mobile patents.

Google claims BT’s products and services infringe patents that disclose methods for computer networking and making telephone calls over the Internet.

“The infringement of the [patents] by defendants ... has caused and continues to cause damage to Google,” the complaint said. “The infringement ... has caused and continues to cause severe and irreparable harm to Google...
