Ill. Lawmaker Loses Warrant Challenge In Bribery Case

Law360, Chicago (February 14, 2013, 6:36 PM EST) -- Illinois state Rep. Derrick Smith, D-Chicago, lost his request Thursday for a hearing where he hoped to show that without the false information prosecutors admittedly included in a court filing, a judge would not have issued a warrant to arrest him on a bribery charge.
