Calif. High Court Snubs Challenge To Worker Time Rounding

Law360, San Diego (February 15, 2013, 6:05 PM EST) -- The California Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to hear former See's Candy Stores Inc. employees' challenge to a ruling that the candy maker's practice of rounding worker time entries did not violate state law.

The state’s high court denied a former worker’s petition for review after a California appeals court in October reversed a decision that barred See’s from raising certain affirmative defenses, finding that California employers can use a timekeeping policy that rounds employee punch-in or -out times to the nearest 10th of an hour...
