Firehouse Contract Exempt From Wage Law: NY High Court

Law360, New York (February 19, 2013, 3:11 PM EST) -- A Steuben County town's volunteer fire department was not required to adhere to the New York's “prevailing wage” law, which requires public agencies to pay workers at union scale, when it built a new firehouse, the state's highest court ruled Tuesday, reversing a lower court.
