NJ To Pour $200M Into Jersey Shore Highway Rebuild

Law360, New York (February 19, 2013, 3:32 PM EST) -- New Jersey will take on a more than $200 million project to rebuild a 12.5-mile stretch of Route 35 along the Barnegat Peninsula in Ocean County, which was left battered by Superstorm Sandy in October, Gov. Chris Christie announced Tuesday.

The reconstruction will include installing better drainage, a smoother driving surface, and improved accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists, both to repair the damage wrought by Sandy and to make the highway more resilient and efficient, Christie said.
