LA Clippers Owner Gets New Trial Over $17M Apartment Fire

Law360, Los Angeles (February 19, 2013, 4:14 PM EST) -- A California judge Friday granted Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling's request for a new trial after a former tenant won a $17.3 million jury judgment on claims that Sterling’s negligence caused an apartment fire, ruling in part that she had failed to prove he intentionally inflicted emotional distress by continuing to charge her rent.
