Seoul Files ITC Complaint Over Nichia Laser Devices

Law360 (December 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- As a bitter fight over light-emitting diode technology plays out in courts across the globe, Seoul Semiconductor Co. Ltd. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to take a closer look at whether Nichia Corp.’s laser diode products infringe its patent.

Seoul said Tuesday that it had filed a complaint with the ITC alleging that Japan-based Nichia took part in unfair trade practices and violated Seoul’s patent by importing and selling gallium nitride-based products.
