Senate Armed Services Subcommittees Gain New Leaders

Law360, New York (February 21, 2013, 9:49 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee has settled on new leadership for its subcommittees, with the committee’s former top Republican, John McCain, R-Ariz., taking the helm of the seapower subcommittee during the reshuffling.

While Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., will remain the chair of the entire committee, McCain was bounced from his ranking member position by Republican rules limiting senators to six years in a committee leadership post. Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla.,  will take McCain’s place as the ranking Republican.
