Microsoft Wins Arbitration Bid In Tablet False Ad Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (February 28, 2013, 5:19 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Wednesday granted Microsoft Corp.'s bid to arbitrate a proposed class action alleging it misled consumers and falsely advertised its Surface RT tablet as having more storage capacity than it actually does, saying the lead plaintiff didn't object to the motion.

Wednesday’s ruling marks an end to litigation in the case first filed by plaintiff Andrew Sokolowski in a California state court last November alleging that Microsoft knows — but conceals and fails to disclose in its advertising, marketing or promotional materials...
