Sky Grabs Telefonica's Broadband Biz In £200M Deal

Law360, Los Angeles (March 1, 2013, 2:57 PM EST) -- News Corp.-controlled British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC has reached an agreement to acquire Telefonica UK Ltd.'s O2 and BE consumer broadband and fixed-line telephone business in a deal worth £200 million ($300 million), according to the companies Friday.

Jeremy Darroch, Sky’s chief executive, said the company, which has been the U.K.’s fastest-growing broadband and telephone provider since it entered the market six years ago, will add more than half a million broadband and fixed-line customers as part of the deal, for a total of 4.7 million...
