Ex-Jenkens Atty Gets 8 Years For 'Breathtaking' Tax Fraud

Law360, New York (March 1, 2013, 6:56 PM EST) -- Former Jenkens & Gilchrist PC tax attorney Donna Guerin was sentenced Friday to eight years in prison and ordered to pay up to $190 million in restitution for her role in what prosecutors said was the largest criminal tax fraud in U.S. history.

Guerin, who worked as a junior partner at Jenkens' Chicago office, pled guilty in September 2012 to two tax-evasion charges for helping clients hide their money from the Internal Revenue Service as part of a larger conspiracy at the firm.
