Law360, New York (March 1, 2013, 5:35 PM EST) -- A Florida federal judge found Thursday that Hoffman-La Roche Inc. adequately warned a user of the acne treatment Accutane about the risk of bowel injury, leaving only one suit remaining in the multidistrict litigation over the drug.
U.S. District Judge James Moody Jr. granted summary judgment to Roche in a suit brought by plaintiff Ryan Thompson, who claimed he had to have parts of his bowel surgically removed as a result of taking Accutane.
The ruling comes two weeks after Roche defeated 40 other lawsuits in the multidistrict litigation, when Judge Moody ruled there was no legitimate reason for the plaintiffs...
