Watch Out For New Cybersecurity Rules, Defense Contractors

Law360, New York (March 1, 2013, 1:21 PM EST) -- The clock is ticking for the U.S. Department of Defense to establish “rapid reporting” requirements for cleared defense contractors to report cyber intrusions on their networks. Section 941 of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2013, signed by the president on Jan. 2, 2013, mandates that the secretary of defense establish such reporting procedures within 90 days of the act.[1]
