Calif. Lawmakers Push Drone Privacy Bill

Law360, San Diego (March 1, 2013, 6:25 PM EST) -- California lawmakers said Wednesday they had introduced a measure calling for law enforcement agencies and other state agencies to adopt policies governing the use and deployment of drones to prevent violations of individuals’ privacy rights.

State Assemblymen Jeff Gorell, R-Camarillo, and Steven Bradford, D-Gardena, floated A.B. 1327 in an effort to put some limits on the use of so-called unmanned aerial vehicles by law enforcement agencies and private entities ahead of the federal government’s integration of drones into the national airspace system in 2015.
