Macy's Seeks More Limits In JC Penney-Martha Stewart Deal

Law360, New York (March 4, 2013, 7:11 PM EST) -- A New York state judge warned J.C. Penney Co. Inc. during a contract breach trial Monday that he might block the retailer's plans to sell products designed by Martha Stewart's company but not branded with her name, which Macy's Inc. requested after saying such sales could compound its damages.

Judge Jeffrey K. Oing said he'd hear arguments Friday over Macy's contention that its rival department store shouldn't be allowed go forward with plans to sell home goods that are designed by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc....
