Chetrit In $150M Contract For Defunct NYC Medical Center

Law360, New York (March 4, 2013, 6:38 PM EST) -- The Chetrit Group and several partners have reportedly agreed to buy the defunct Cabrini Medical Center near New York City's Gramercy Park from the Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for more than $150 million.

Joseph Chetrit and his partners, who recently snapped up Sony Corp.'s U.S. headquarters on Madison Avenue for $1.1 billion, are in contract to buy the five-building onetime medical complex at Second Avenue and 19th Street with apparent plans to tear it down, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
