McKesson, Epic End High Court Induced-Infringement Fight

Law360, New York (March 5, 2013, 4:14 PM EST) -- McKesson Corp. and Epic Systems Corp. on Monday announced a settlement of their patent dispute over online medical records software, bringing an end to a marathon intellectual property battle that spawned a landmark Federal Circuit ruling on induced infringement and a subsequent U.S. Supreme Court appeal.

Under the terms of the deal, McKesson said it has agreed to give Epic a license for U.S. Patent Number 6,757,898, which McKesson previously accused Epic of infringing with its MyChart software.
