DOJ Review Delays TPG's Midwest Air Acquisition

Law360, New York (December 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Midwest Air Group Inc., parent of Midwest Airlines, said Friday that its $450 million proposed acquisition by private equity group TPG Capital LP will not close until at least the end of January because the U.S. Department of Justice has asked for more time to consider the deal.

The announcement comes two months after Midwest, on Oct. 4, revealed that the DOJ had requested additional information under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act about the acquisition. The waiting period for the transaction was then extended until 30 days after...
