Aereo Sues FilmOn Over Aero.tv Site As IP Rivalry Continues

Law360, New York (March 8, 2013, 3:30 PM EST) -- Aereo Inc. has again sued billionaire Alki David and his rival FilmOn Internet television service, filing a trademark infringement suit Wednesday in California over FilmOn's recent launch of an “Aero.tv” website.

Aereo claims that FilmOn's use of the similarly worded domain name is intended to unfairly capitalize on the company's brand. The lawsuit is the latest twist in a high-profile legal battle between David and prominent Aereo backer Barry Diller that dates back to August.
