Ingersoll-Rand Sales Reps Win Class Cert. In Wage Suit

Law360, New York (March 11, 2013, 2:57 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge on Friday certified a class of sales account managers who claim industrial conglomerate Ingersoll-Rand PLC violated state labor laws by making improper deductions from their wages.

Justice Debra James certified a class of at least 40 current and former sales representatives at Ingersoll-Rand and subsidiary Trane Inc. on accusations that the companies wrongly charged a 4.7 percent deduction from their sales commissions for “general administrative expenses.”
