Time-Share Consumer Group Sued Over Automated Calls

Law360, New York (March 11, 2013, 6:26 PM EDT) -- A consumer rights group that purportedly frees owners from fraudulent time-share contracts was hit with a proposed class action Monday alleging it made unsolicited phone calls to consumers in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Wesley Financial Group LLC, which helps clients terminate time-share contracts that they were persuaded into entering through fraud or misrepresentation, was sued by California resident Timothy Barrett, who claims the group made at least one phone call to his cellphone in March.
