NY Judge Crushes Bloomberg's 'Arbitrary' Large-Soda Ban

By David McAfee (March 11, 2013, 5:03 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge on Monday blocked the city of New York from enforcing a rule limiting the size of sugary drinks available for purchase that was set to take effect on Tuesday, saying the rule has loopholes that defeat its intended purpose.

The ruling, issued hours before the ban was set to take effect, comes after seven industry groups and unions sued New York City's Board of Health in New York state court in October over Mayor Michael Bloomberg's controversial rule, claiming the city's large-soda ban was implemented outside of the proper legislative process and would unfairly harm consumers...
