Deals Rumor Mill: KKR, Carlyle, Lenovo

LP could potentially join forces with other investment firms to take over sought-after biotech firm Life Technologies Corp. in a deal purportedly worth about $12.5 billion, including the assumption of debt, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. Other firms hungry for a stake in the company include Blackstone Group LP, TPG Capital and Singapore's Temasek Holding Ltd. If completed, the buyout would be the heftiest club deal involving three or more private equity firms since 2007, before the financial crisis chilled the industry....
