9th Circ. Told Platters Singer Abandoned Band's Trademark

Law360, San Francisco (March 12, 2013, 5:43 PM EDT) -- A concert promoter who has been using The Platters name for Las Vegas tribute concerts since the 1980s urged the Ninth Circuit on Tuesday to overturn Platters singer Herb Reed's injunction blocking use of the trademarked band name, saying Reed gave up sole rights to it years ago.
