Toshiba To Pay $14M In Cathode Ray Price-Fixing MDL

Law360, San Francisco (March 12, 2013, 6:34 PM EDT) -- Toshiba Corp. will pay $13.5 million to settle direct purchasers’ claims in multidistrict litigation alleging it conspired with other electronics makers to fix the prices of cathode ray tubes and CRT products under a deal preliminarily approved by a California federal judge Tuesday.  

The agreement ends the dispute between Toshiba and direct purchasers, including retailers like Meijer Inc. and home-theater installers such as Arch Electronics, accusing CRT makers Toshiba, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., LG Electronics, Inc., Hitachi Ltd., Panasonic Corp. and others of violating antitrust laws...
