$4M Of Oil Cos. Settlement To Fund Air Quality Study

Law360, New York (December 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has donated about $4 million in unclaimed money from the settlement of a multidistrict litigation in which oil companies were accused of conspiring to underpay royalties to an air quality project.

Judge Janis Graham Jack of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas said Wednesday that the cash would go to the "Neighborhood Air Toxics Modeling Project for Houston and Corpus Christi,” which aims to adapt regional air quality models for use at a finer scale.
