Staggered NY Wage Hike Would Require Employer Vigilance

Law360, New York (March 19, 2013, 7:41 PM EDT) -- As New York lawmakers haggled Tuesday over the details of a $136.5 billion 2013 state budget, experts cautioned that a new proposal to stagger minimum wage hikes over three years, while easier on payrolls, would require restaurateurs and retailers to tread carefully over a longer period to stay in compliance with state law.
