Philip Morris, Altria Shake 'Light' Cigarette Ad Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (March 21, 2013, 8:27 PM EDT) -- An Ohio federal judge on Thursday cleared Philip Morris USA Inc. and Altria Group Inc. of claims stemming from multidistrict litigation that they violated state consumer protection laws by advertising their cigarettes as “light,” finding the plaintiffs couldn't sue under those statutes as consumers.
