Law360, New York (March 25, 2013, 5:30 PM EDT) -- An Alaska federal jury has awarded a former Shaw Environment & Infrastructure Inc. worker $3.4 million in his suit accusing Shaw of wrongful termination after he discovered another employee was allegedly overcharging the government for work at military installations, his attorneys said Monday.
On March 19, the jury returned the liability verdict for $374,000 in back pay, $72,000 in front pay and $486,000 in noneconomic damages in favor of Paul Blakeslee. On March 20, they returned a verdict for $2.5 million in punitive damages.
